According to the NVJ, this merger poses a risk of power concentration that could negatively impact media pluralism and the position of freelance journalists. The combination of DPG and RTL will wield significant data and opinion power, bringing substantial risks such as potential limitations on editorial independence and market competition. La Fédération néerlandaise des journalistes (NVJ) réagit avec préoccupation à l’approbation de l’acquisition de RTL Pays-Bas par DPG Media. Selon la NVJ, une concentration des pouvoirs menace la pluralité dans les médias et pourrait avoir un impact négatif sur la position des journalistes indépendants. La combinaison de DPG et RTL disposera d’une immense puissance en matière de données et d’opinions, ce qui comporte de grands risques, tels qu’une possible limitation de l’indépendance éditoriale et de la position concurrentielle sur le marché. La NVJ étudiera attentivement la décision de l’ACM pour évaluer les conséquences.

De combinatie van DPG en RTL zal beschikken over een enorme data- en opiniemacht, wat grote risico’s met zich meebrengt, zoals een mogelijke beperking van de redactionele onafhankelijkheid en de concurrentiepositie op de markt. De NVJ zal het ACM-besluit nauwkeurig bestuderen om de gevolgen te beoordelen.
