La Fédération néerlandaise des journalistes (NVJ) qualifie cette combinaison de tout à fait inacceptable, car elle met en péril l’objectivité de la presse locale. La question la plus frappante qui se pose ici est la suivante : comment peut-on être à la fois responsable des décisions politiques et en écrire les reportages, voire en faire une critique ? Ce dilemme touche au cœur de la transparence démocratique. La discussion ne porte pas sur un manque d’intégrité, mais sur la frontière visuelle et émotionnelle entre observateur et acteur. De Nederlandse Vereniging van Journalisten (NVJ) omschrijft die combinatie als volstrekt onwenselijk, omdat het de objectiviteit van de lokale pers in gevaar brengt. De meest opvallende gedachte die hierbij rijst: hoe kan iemand die over politieke besluiten schrijft, tegelijk ook verantwoordelijk zijn voor diezelfde besluiten? Dat vraagstuk raakt het hart van de democratische transparantie. De discussie gaat niet om een gebrek aan eerlijkheid, maar om de visuele en emotionele grens tussen waarnemer en deelnemer.
