The Dutch Association of Journalists (NVJ) and Lira, the copyright organisation, have joined the Authors’ Guild’s action against Meta’s AI usage. The conflict centres on the unauthorised use of copyrighted material by Meta’s AI model, Llama. Members are being urged to check if their work appears in the illegal LibGen database, which is estimated to contain 7.5 million books and 80 million scientific texts. This action represents a significant step in protecting intellectual property in the AI battle.
